Permits are required to show compliance with regulations under the <br /> Florida Building Code, the City Code, as well as to promote the health, safety and general <br /> welfare of City residents and visitors alike. <br /> The City wishes to adopt this amendatory Ordinance to confirm that permits are required to <br /> construct, enlarge, alter or repair any building, or structure. Additionally, the City wishes to <br /> confirm that permits are required to 1) use, clear, fill, excavate, move, pave, grade or otherwise <br /> alter land, water or beach sand, 2) close a lane of traffic, or 3) perform work in a public right of <br /> way or public easement area. <br /> Any permit issued pursuant to this amendatory Ordinance shall be valid for a period of One <br /> Hundred Eighty (180) days from the date of issuance by the City, unless a different expiration <br /> date is otherwise provided by the City Code or Florida Building Code for a specific permit or <br /> development order, or as otherwise indicated by the City Commission at a public hearing. <br /> This Ordinance was requested by the Office of the City Manager. <br />
