ORDINANCE NO. 2015 - Y q -rj <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br /> SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 171 <br /> ("HISTORIC LANDMARKS") OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO <br /> PROVIDE A DEFINITION OF "OBJECTS"; PROVIDING FOR <br /> SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; <br /> PROVIDING FOR REPEAL OF CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND <br /> PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> WHEREAS, the purpose of Chapter 171 ("Historic Landmarks") of the Code of <br /> Ordinances of the City of Sunny Isles Beach ("City Code") is to create a Historic Preservation <br /> Board to advise the City Commission on historic landmark designation and regulation; and <br /> WHEREAS. Chapter 171 of the City Code vests the Historic Preservation Board with <br /> authority to recommend that certain properties be designated as historic landmarks with the <br /> consent of the City Commission; and <br /> WHEREAS. Chapter 171 of the City Code provides specific definitions of a "historic <br /> landmark" or "historic landmark district" that may be recommended for historic site designation <br /> by the Historic Preservation Board; and <br /> WHEREAS. Chapter 171 does not specifically define "objects" located within the City <br /> that may be recommended for historic designation; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Board has recommended to the City Commission <br /> that Chapter 171 of the City Code be amended to include a specific definition of"objects". <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br /> OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing, "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified <br /> and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this Ordinance <br /> upon adoption hereof. <br /> Section 2. Amendment. Chapter 171 of the City Code is amended to read as follows: <br /> § 171-1. — Definitions. <br /> The following words and phrases, when used in this chapter shall have the meaning ascribed to <br /> them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning: <br /> Words added underlined,words;triciczn deleted(ed) <br />
