Simpson, Cultural and Community Services <br /> Director. <br /> DATE: 9/17/2015 <br /> RE: Approving a Charitable Contribution to Sunny Isles <br /> Beach Social Seniors Events, Inc. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> This Resolution is presented for your consideration. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The Sunny Isles Beach Social Seniors Event, Inc. ("Social Seniors")is <br /> a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that offers monthly social and <br /> recreational gatherings for senior citizen residents and guests alike. <br /> The City wishes to continue its tradition of giving contributions to <br /> charitable organizations within the City, and wishes to give a <br /> charitable contribution for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 to Social Seniors in <br /> the amount of $10,000 as a matching contribution, subject to the <br /> following terms and conditions: <br /> 1. 50% of the $10,000.00 charitable contribution (i.e. $5,000.00) shall <br /> be used for administrative costs and salaries. The remaining 50% of <br /> the $10,000.00 charitable contribution (i.e. $5,000.00) shall be used <br /> for programs. The $10,000.00 contribution is subject to the matching <br /> requirement that was approved under Resolution No. 2013-2115, <br /> adopted on September 19, 2013; <br /> 2. The $10,000.00 charitable contribution shall be contributed <br /> quarterly, i.e. $2,500.00 per quarter; <br /> 3. In addition to the monetary donation the City, at its discretion, <br /> agrees to provide Social Seniors marketing information in official City <br /> publications, as available; <br /> 4. Social Seniors shall promote City events and programs at all Social <br /> Seniors organized functions as approved by the City; <br /> 5. Social Seniors shall provide residents of the City with some form of <br /> special pricing, or discounts for events; <br /> 6. Social Seniors shall provide detailed information of all Social <br /> Seniors events and programs to the City so as to assist in marketing <br /> Social Seniors events, however all ticket/payment requests will be <br /> directed to Social Seniors Officers; <br /> 7.The City shall be named as a sponsor in all Social Seniors materials <br /> provided that materials are reviewed and approved by the City; <br /> httpi/sunrryisles.novusagenda.con/agendaveb/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=1731 1/2 <br />
