CALL TO ORDER BY CHAIRPERSON: <br /> Action: Vice-Chairperson Joe Masters called the meeting to order at 4:15 p.m. The <br /> following Committee Members and City Officials were present: <br /> Committee Members: City Officials: <br /> Dione E. Del Monico, Chairperson Mayor Norman S. Edelcup <br /> Joe Masters, Vice-Chairperson Vice Mayor Lewis J. Hines <br /> Bonita Shoki <br /> City Liaison: <br /> Richard Schulman, City Historian <br /> 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES FOR THE JUNE 6, 2005 HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD <br /> MEETING: <br /> Action: Phillip Chernoff moved and Casey Gabor seconded a motion!to approve the June 6, <br /> 2005 Committee meeting summary minutes. The motion was approved by a 6-0-1 voice <br /> vote (Dione E. Del Monico arrived late). <br /> • Discussion regarding the Re-Designation of the Historic Sites Passed by Resolution at <br /> the July 14, 2005 City Commission Meeting. <br /> Action: Richard Schulman reported, and Vice-Chairperson Masters commended Richard <br /> on the presentation he made to the City Commission on July 14, 2005. <br /> 3. ADJOURN TO HISTORY HALL FOR REVIEW BY MEMBERS. <br /> Action: It was the consensus of the Board to adjourn at this time to History Hall. Richard <br /> Schulman distributed an article from the Herald/Neighbors section of a story on him and <br /> History Hall. He then led the members on a tour of the Hall noting that the pictures used for <br /> the Hall were representative of the 50's and 60's, and noted that there is a 20-year Time <br /> Capsule in the wall within the Commission Chambers of other memorabilia to be opened on <br /> February 25, 2025. <br /> 4. DISCUSSION OF PLAQUES TO BE PLACED AT HISTORIC SITES. <br /> • Newport Fishing Pier; <br /> • Atlantic Isles Entrance Bridge; <br /> • Atlantic Isles Lake Bridge; and <br /> • Pergola Home of Chairperson Del Monico. <br /> Action: Mr. Schulman said as a follow-up on the rededication of the fdur historic sites, he has <br /> prepared the wording of three of the plaques and asked if Chairperson Del Monico wants a <br /> Summary Minutes 2005-1206 HPB Mtg Page 1 of 5 <br />
