Budget Ordinance (Public Hearing) <br /> An Ordinance of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida, Adopting <br /> an Operating and Capital Outlay Budget for the Fiscal Year Commencing October 1, 2000 <br /> through September 30, 2001, Pursuant to Florida Statutes Section 200.65 (Trim Bill) <br /> Authorizing Expenditures of Funds Established by the Budget;Authorizing Encumbrances; <br /> Authorizing Issuance of Checks; Providing for Grants and Gifts; Providing for Post Audit; <br /> Providing for Severability and Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title and City Manager Christopher Russo <br /> presented his report. <br /> Public Speakers: Gerry Goodman; Frances King <br /> In response to a question, Mr. Russo said the City was financing the acquisition of the new <br /> Gilbert Samson Memorial Oceanfront Park and one other park. Commissioner Iglesias noted <br /> that of the S5 million price to purchase the Oceanfront Park,it only cost us S1.7 million since <br /> the other S3.7 million came from grant funds. <br /> Mayor Samson passed the gavel and moved to increase the City Clerk's salary to S72,000 <br /> and Commissioner Iglesias seconded the motion. The motion was approved by a voice <br /> vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Iglesias yes <br /> Commissioner Kauffman yes <br /> Commissioner Turetsky rtes <br /> Vice Mayor Morrow yes <br /> Mayor Samson yes <br /> Ms. King requested that a water faucet be installed to rinse the sand off when leaving the <br /> beach at the 192'Street beach access (between Ocean One and the Ramada).
