SUMMARY MINUTES <br /> Wednesday, September 12, 2001, 12:00 p.m. <br /> CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA <br /> ATTENTION ALL LOBBYISTS: CITY LAW REQUIRES YOUR REGISTRATION PRIOR TO ENGAGING IN <br /> LOBBYING ACTIVITIES BEFORE CITY STAFF, BOARDS,CO MITTEES OR THE CITY COMMISSION. <br /> PLEASE CONTACT THE CITY CLERK FOR FORMS AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. <br /> AGENDA <br /> 1. CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL OF MEMBERS <br /> The meeting was called to order by Mayor Samson at 1:43 p.m*,with the following officials <br /> present: <br /> Mayor David Samson <br /> Vice Mayor Lila Kauffman <br /> Commissioner Danny Iglesias (absent) <br /> Commissioner Connie Morrow <br /> Commissioner Irving Turetsky <br /> City Manager Christopher J. Russo <br /> City Attorney Lynn M. Dannheisser <br /> City Clerk Richard Brown-Morilla <br /> Mayor Samson called for a moment of silence in memory of the thousands of people who <br /> were killed yesterday in the tragedies in New York City,Washington D.C.and Pennsylvania. <br /> *(City Clerk's note: The start of the meeting was delayed until the Canvassing Board for <br /> the September 11, 2001 General Election had completed an emergency meeting to hear a <br /> challenge from Irving Turetsky that requested a hand count of the ballots cast in the <br /> Residential Area Commissioner—Seat 2 race in the General Election of September 11, <br /> 2001./ <br /> 2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE AND INVOCATION <br /> Action: Mayor Samson led the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag, and read a welcoming <br /> statement, and Richard Schulman gave the invocation. <br /> City Clerk Brown-Morilla announced that Commissioner Iglesias was required to be out of <br /> town on business and apologized for not being able to attend the meeting. Mayor Samson <br /> read a note from Commissioner Iglesias explaining his need to be out of town. <br />
