Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting March 15,2001 City of Sunny Isles Beach,Florida <br /> 11. DISCUSSION ITEMS <br /> 11A. Discussion regarding Parking. <br /> Action: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title, and Code & Licensing Enforcement <br /> Officer Chris Steers presented.a detailed report using charts, and City neighborhood <br /> models. He showed a City map indicating the variety and proliferation of"No Parking" <br /> signs, and yet there are some areas where staff thought that additional signage might be <br /> needed. He noted that our Comprehensive Plan calls for an improvement in the <br /> consistency and quality of signage. Mayor Samson said he wanted to tour the area with <br /> City staff. Several other Commissioners also expressed a desire to go on a tour. City <br /> Clerk Brown-Morilla said if two or more City Commissioners are going on tour at the <br /> same time, he would need to publish a public notice of the public tour. <br /> Public Speakers: Geoffrey Ehrich; Gerry Goodman; Bard Brenner <br /> Geoffrey Ehrich praised Mayor Samson and thanked him for raising parking issues <br /> effecting Golden Shores. <br /> Mr. Brenner asked if the City could purchase some land to build a parking garage to <br /> facilitate and encourage tourists and visitors to come to our City. <br /> 11B. Discussion regarding Future Starting Time of City Commission Meetings. <br /> Action: City Clerk Brown-Morilla read the title. <br /> Public Speakers: Mary Ann Eiche <br /> After discussion, the consensus was to continue with the past practice of evening <br /> meetings, and if there is a heavy agenda, the meeting might be scheduled earlier. <br /> 11C. Add-On <br /> Discussion regarding Binders for Each City Commission Agenda. <br /> Action: City Clerk Brown-Morilla asked the members of the Commission if they wanted <br /> their agenda package to continue to be put in spiral binders,or to use press-board binders. <br /> Commissioners Iglesias and Morrow said they would prefer press-board binders. <br /> 12. CITIZENS' FORUM: REQUESTS,PETITIONS&OTHER COMMUNICATIONS <br /> None <br /> 8 <br />
