Install warning, caution, and instruction signs where needed to ensure safe operation and maintenance of electrical <br />systems and of items to which they connect. Install engraved plastic-laminated instruction signs with approved le- <br />gend where instructions are needed for system or equipment operation. Install metal-backed butyrate signs for out- <br />door items. <br /> <br />J. Install engraved-laminated emergency-operating signs with white letters on red background with minimum <br /> 3/8-inch- high lettering for emergency instructions on power transfer, load shedding, and other emergency <br /> operations. <br /> <br />3.5 <br /> <br />UTILITY COMPANY ELECTRICITY-METERING EQUIPMENT <br />A. Install equipment according to utility company's written requirements. Provide grounding and empty <br /> conduits as required by utility company. <br /> <br />3.6 <br /> <br />FIRESTOPPING <br />A. Apply firestopping to cable and raceway penetrations of fire-rated floor and wall assemblies to achieve fire- <br /> resistance rating of the assembly. Fire stopping materials and installation requirements are specified in <br /> division 7 Section "Firestopping." <br /> <br />3.7 <br /> <br />CONCRETE BASES <br />A. Construct concrete bases of dimensions indicated, but not less than 4 inches larger, in both directions, than <br /> supported unit. Follow supported equipment manufacturer's anchorage recommendations and setting tem <br /> plates for anchor-bolt and tie locations, unless otherwise indicated. Use 3000-psi, 28-day compressive- <br /> strength concrete and reinforcement as specified in Division 3 Section "Cast-in-Place Concrete." <br /> <br />3.8 <br /> <br />APPARATUS OF OTHER TRADES <br />A. Install all manual and magnetic starters and contactors, which are not integral with equipment, including <br /> those furnished under other Divisions. <br /> <br />B. Mechanical equipment control devices, such as thermostats, firestats and similar devices for equipment <br /> controlled by magnetic starters and contactors, are to be furnished and installed under another division. <br /> The power wiring provided under this division for equipment not controlled by magnetic starters or contact - <br /> tors shall also include wiring through manual line voltage control devices, such as thermostats and firestats, <br /> furnished and mounted under another division. <br /> <br />C. Provide all power wiring to equipment as shown on the drawings and according to approved wiring dia - <br /> grams furnished by the respective trades and provide disconnect switches, or motor starters as noted on the <br /> electrical drawings. Power wiring shall include correct phase connections for proper motor shaft rotation <br /> and shall include wiring through starters and contactors furnished under another division. <br />
