Russo,City Manager <br /> FROM: Derrick L.Arias,Chief Information Officer <br /> DATE: 11/19/2015 <br /> Ratifying expenditure of budgeted funds in the amount <br /> RE: of$61,716.02 with Sungard for FY 2015-2016 for police <br /> software system maintenance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution <br /> ratifying expenditure of budgeted funds, in an amount not to exceed <br /> $61,716.02, on the purchase of software licensing and/or products from <br /> Sungard. <br /> REASONS: <br /> The City entered into an agreement with Sungard in May 2006 (via <br /> Resolution 2006-919) for the purchase of a state-of-the-art Police computer <br /> system (called OSSI) that provides the Police Department with a Computer <br /> Aided Dispatch (CAD) System, Records Management System (RMS), <br /> Mobile Computing Terminals (MCT) and a Mobile Field Reporting (MFR) <br /> System. This proprietary software solution has proven to be the leader in <br /> public safety software in Miami-Dade County as well as many other cities <br /> and states throughout the country. This expenditure allowed staff to contract <br /> with the vendor for the annual software maintenance and support for these <br /> critical Police Department systems. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: <br /> Sungard Public Sector, Inc. is also contracted by cities such as; Aventura, <br /> North Miami Beach, Miami Gardens, Doral, Pinecrest, Miami-Dade School <br /> Police,Broward Sheriffs Office. <br /> FUNDING SOURCE: <br /> Funding was budgeted and is available under the Information Technology <br /> Budget,001-2-5160-434051-00000. <br /> ATTACHMENTS: <br /> Description <br /> Resolution <br /> Invoice <br /> Item Number: 10.A. <br /> http://sunnyisles.novusagenda.com/AgendaWeb/CoverSheet.aspx?ItemID=1775 11/12/2015 <br />
