Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting February 20,2003 City of Sunny Isles Beach.Florida <br /> 1. Pursuant to Section 515 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development <br /> Regulations the applicant is requesting to transfer 18,000 square feet of development <br /> rights from the City. <br /> 2. Pursuant to Section 508 of the City of Sunny Isles Beach Land Development <br /> Regulations the applicant is requesting a site plan approval for a 14-story, 88-unit <br /> condominium. <br /> 3. Conditional Use to permit temporary construction parking. <br /> Protests 0 Waivers 0 Ex-Pane 0 <br /> Action: City Attorney Dannheisser read a disclaimer for the Zoning hearing. Acting City <br /> Clerk Hines read the applicant's name, hearing number, location and then administered <br /> the oath to the witnesses for the Zoning hearing. Acting City Clerk Hines asked if there <br /> were any ex-pane disclosures, and there were none. <br /> Public Speakers: Joe Milton; Planning and Zoning Administrator Jorge Vera; Phillip <br /> Chemoff; Thomas Wahl; Bobbi Sweed; Dr. Elayne Mangad; Bill Lone;Mary Ann Eicke; <br /> Shelley Eichner <br /> Planning and Zoning Administrator Vera presented the report noting that this was ajoint <br /> report between him and Calvin, Giordano and Associates, the Planning Firm that works <br /> with the City. Mr. Vera recommended approval with staff conditions. <br /> Commissioner Iglesias noted that on the site plan, the developer has 31 Royal Palm trees <br /> in the small area of landscaping. He requested that Mr. Milton provide for the 31 Royal <br /> Palm trees not just in the plans, but in the actual landscaping, and he agreed. <br /> Mayor Samson asked that two conditions be added: 1) S & G of Miami Beach must <br /> maintain the Swale area; and 2) place "No Parking" signs in front of their property. Vice <br /> Mayor Edelcup also requested that the two parking spaces along 175th Terrace be <br /> eliminated, to allow complete landscaping. Vice Mayor Edelcup noted that Joe Milton <br /> had accepted all the recommendations from our consultant and agreed on the additional <br /> conditions above. Mr. Milton also stated that additional funds will be presented to the <br /> City to cover the shortage of parking as per the LDRs. <br /> Commissioner Goodman moved and Commissioner Kauffman seconded a motion for <br /> approval as amended with all staff conditions. The motion was approved as <br /> Resolution No. 03-Z-73, by a roll call vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> Vote: Commissioner Goodman yes <br /> Commissioner Iglesias yes <br /> Commissioner Kauffman ves <br /> Vice Mayor Edelcup ves <br /> Mayor Samson yes <br /> 3 <br />
