Summary Minutes:Regular City Commission Meeting February 20,2003 City of Sunny Isles Beach.Florida <br /> Public Speakers: none <br /> Commissioner Goodman moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to <br /> approve the resolution. Resolution No. 2003-510 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 <br /> in favor. <br /> 9B. Public Hearing <br /> A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br /> Amending Resolution No. 2002-501,Providing for the Vacation of an Alley Running <br /> North and South from 185th Street to 191st Street, as More Fully Described in Exhibit <br /> "A"; Providing for the City Manager to Do All Things Necessary to Effectuate this <br /> Resolution; Providing for Repealer; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: Acting City Clerk Hines read the title and Planning and Zoning Administrator <br /> Vera reported. <br /> Public Speakers: W. Donald Stewart <br /> Commissioner Kauffman asked when the alley is vacated will the homeowner be taxed <br /> for the additional land. Mr. Vera answered yes,whoever acquires the additional ten feet, <br /> will pay additional taxes because the land will be deeded to them. <br /> Vice Mayor Edelcup moved and Commissioner Iglesias seconded a motion to approve <br /> the resolution. Resolution No. 2003-511 was adopted by a voice vote of 5-0 in favor. <br /> 9C. A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br /> Approving a Lease Agreement between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the <br /> Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), for Use of the Right-of-Way Located <br /> on State Road 826,Under the Sunny Isles Boulevard Causeway Bridge, in an Amount of <br /> One Dollar (51.00) Per Year, for a Five-Year Period with Option to Renew, Attached <br /> Hereto as Exhibit "A"; Authorizing the Mayor to Execute Said Lease Agreement; <br /> Authorizing the City Manager to Do All Other Things Necessary to Effectuate the Terms <br /> of this Resolution; Providing for an Effective Date. <br /> Action: Acting City Clerk Hines read the title and City Manager Russo reported that the <br /> City is in need of additional parking spaces and this would increase our availability <br /> tremendously. He said that FDOT is willing to make similar arrangements for non- <br /> exclusive parking under the Sunny Isles Boulevard Causeway as we have under the <br /> William Lehman Causeway. This will not include parking in the retention areas that are <br /> on the east and west side of the City property. <br /> Public Speakers: none <br /> 5 <br />
