<br />01020 - 1/15 <br /> <br />SECTION 01020 MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT <br /> <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.05 SCOPE: Payments for the various items in the Bid Schedule, as further specified herein, <br />shall include all compensation to be received by the Contractor for furnishing all tools, <br />equipment, supplies, consumables and manufactured articles, and for all labor, operations <br />and incidentals appurtenant to the items of work being described, as necessary to <br />complete the various items of the work all in accordance with the requirements of the <br />Contract Documents, including all appurtenances thereto, and including all costs of <br />compliance with regulations of public agencies having jurisdiction, including Safety and <br />Health Requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the U.S. <br />Department of Labor. No separate payments will be made for any item that is not <br />specifically set forth in the Bid Schedule, and all costs therefore shall be included in prices <br />named in the Bid Schedule for various appurtenant items of work. <br />A. The following explanation of the Measurement and Payment for the Bid Schedule <br />items is provided; however, the omission of reference to any item shall not alter the <br />intent of the Bid Schedule or relieve the CONTRACTOR of the necessity of <br />constructing a complete project under this Contract. <br />B. The quantities set forth in the Bid Schedule are approximate and are given to <br />establish a uniform basis for the comparison of bids. The OWNER reserves the right <br />to increase or decrease the quantity of any item or portion of the work during the <br />progress of construction in accordance with the terms of the Contract. <br />C. Unit prices are used as a means for computing the bid, for Contract purposes, for <br />periodic payments, and for determining the value of additions or deletions. <br />D. Payment shall be made for the items listed on the Bid Forms on the basis of the work <br />actually performed and completed. No payment to be made for materials stored on <br />site or elsewhere. Payment for completed work is including but not limited to, the <br />furnishing of all necessary labor, materials, equipment, tools, transportation, delivery, <br />disposal of waste and surplus material, backfilling, and site restoration as shown in <br />the plans, and all other appurtenances to complete the construction and installation <br />of the work as shown on the drawings and described in the specifications. If any item <br />of work, process, equipment or material is not specifically listed in the unit price bid <br />item schedule of values, the CONTRACTOR shall include and provide said work, <br />process, equipment or material of the best quality workmanship appropriate for the <br />intended use at no additional cost. <br />1.02 ESTIMATED QUANTITIES <br />A. Where quantities are shown, they are approximate and are given only as a basis of <br />calculation upon which the award of the contract is to be made. OWNER or <br />ENGINEER do not assume any responsibility for the final quantities, nor shall <br />CONTRACTOR claim misunderstanding because of such estimate of quantities. <br />Final payment will be made only for the satisfactorily completed quantity of each <br />item. <br />B. The ENGINEER'S estimated quantities for unit bid prices, as listed in the Bid Form,
