The CONTRACTOR shall submit as specified in DIVISION 1 and SECTION 01300 <br />the proposed methods and materials for clearing of invasive exotic plant material and <br />trees, including a schedule indicating specific timeframes per sections/phases of the <br />project and methods to protect trees to remain. <br />B. The CONTRACTOR shall obtain all necessary permits to accomplish all of the work. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR is responsible for performing all work in accordance with all <br />applicable regulations, ordinances and code requirements from the appropriate city, <br />county, state and/or federal jurisdiction the project is located in. <br />1.05 QUALIFICATIONS: (Not Used) <br />1.06 RESPONSIBILITIES: (Not Used) <br />1.07 CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTING: (Not Used) <br />1.08 INSPECTION COORDINATION: The CONTRACTOR shall provide access to the WORK <br />for the ENGINEER as requested for inspection. The Contractor shall provide 48 hours <br />notice of its intention to begin new WORK activities. <br />1.09 WARRANTY: (Not Used) <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS (Not Applicable) <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 PROTECTION: <br />A. All trees, shrubs and other landscaping is to remain as is, unless specifically <br />designated on the PLANS for removal. All trees, shrubs and other landscaping shall <br />be reasonably protected from damage of construction activities per paragraph 3.05 <br />of this section. <br />B. If existing trees, shrubs and other landscaping impede construction activities, the <br />CONTRACTOR shall notify the ENGINEER immediately in writing, and furnish <br />sketches and/or photographs on request. <br />3.02 TREE REMOVAL: <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall accomplish the removal of trees and or all exotic plant <br />material in a safe and acceptable manner by means of equipment designed for this <br />purpose in conformance with ANSI, A300, Z133.1 and Z133.1a Standards. All other <br />debris, trees and wood growth shall be removed. The CONTRACTOR shall <br />accomplish the work of Tree Removal as outlined below. <br />B. Remove exotic vegetation from all areas outside of sensitive areas using mechanical <br />equipment for clearing and grubbing. Sensitive areas are defined as areas <br />dominated by native vegetation, canal bank slopes, canal bank areas to be <br />preserved at existing grade and wetlands. <br />1. Only handwork and hand tool work will be permitted within the sensitive areas. <br />No mechanical equipment will be allowed within the sensitive areas. Existing <br />native flora and fauna shall be protected from harm during the process. Treat <br />exotic stumps with herbicide mixture approved by the ENGINEER. Herbicide <br />shall be used in combination with flush cut tree stumps where necessary to <br />protect native vegetation from damage by mechanical equipment.
