<br />03375 - 1/2 <br /> <br />SECTION 03375 FLOWABLE FILL <br />PART 1 - GENERAL <br />1.01 SCOPE OF WORK: <br />A. This section specifies the requirements for flowable fill used for trenches, support for <br />pipe structures, culverts, utility cuts and other works where cavities exist and where <br />firm support is needed for pavements and structural elements. Flowable fill may also <br />be used to fill water and sewer lines, and fuel tanks placed out of service, and other <br />locations approved by the Engineer. <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 MATERIALS: <br />A. The material used shall conform with the requirements specified in Division III of the <br />FDOT Standard Specifications fro Road and Bridge Construction, latest edition, and <br />herein. Specific references are as follows: <br />B. Portland Cement (Types I, II or III)……………………………….. ………….Section 931 <br />C. Fly Ash, Slag and Pozzolanic Materials for Portland Cement Concrete….Section 929 <br />D. Fine Aggregate (Sand*)………………………………………………………..Section 902 <br />E. Water…………………………………………………………………………….Section 923 <br />*Any clean sand with 100% passing 3/8” sieve and not more than 10% passing with 200 <br />mesh may be used. <br />2.02 MIX PROPORTIONS: <br />A. The contractor shall be responsible for producing a flowable mixture using these <br />guidelines and by adjusting his mixture design as called for by circumstances or as <br />may be directed by the ENGINEER. <br />B. Flowable fill material shall be proportioned to produce a 28-day compressive strength <br />of approximately 50-150 psi. <br />C.
