15108 HANDHOLE AND BOXES <br />Part 1 GENERAL <br />1.01 RELATED DOCUMENTS <br />All applicable provisions of bidding and Contract requirements including <br />Division 1- General requirements, shall govern the work under this section. <br />1.02 SUMMARY <br />A. This Section includes handholes and, boxes, for utility conduits. <br />1.03 SUBMITTALS <br />A. Contractor shall submit shop drawings and related information to the <br />ENGINEER for approval in accordance with section 01300. <br />Part 2 PRODUCTS <br />2.01 HANDHOLES AND BOXES DESCRIPTIONS FOR UNDERGROUND <br />CONDUITS <br />A. Configuration: Units shall be designed for flush burial and have <br />integral closed bottom, unless otherwise indicated <br />B. Cover: Weatherproof, secured by tamper-resistant locking <br />devices and having structural load rating consistent with <br />enclosure. <br />C. Cover Finish: Nonskid finish as per detail plans <br />D. Cover Legend: Molded lettering bearing the utility name <br />E. Conduit Entrance Provisions: Conduit-terminating fittings shall mate with <br />entering ducts for secure, fixed installation in enclosure wall. <br />F. Handholes minimum 12 inches wide by 24 inches long (300 mm wide by <br />600 mm long) and larger shall have inserts for cable racks and pulling-in <br />irons installed before concrete is poured. All handholes shall be in <br />accordance with the sizes called for and shown on the construction plans. <br />G. All shall be minimum H20 load rated.
