RESOLUTION NO. 2016- �rjO9 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING SCHEMATIC DESIGN AND DESIGN DEVELOPMENT BY PERKINS + WILL FOR ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN OF THE APPROVED GOVERNMENT CENTER EXPANSION, INCLUSIVE OF A 250- SEAT COMMUNITY THEATER LOCATED AT 18080 COLLINS AVENUE; ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on September 17, 2015 via Resolution No. 2015-2459 the City Commission approved the Architectural Design Agreement for a new facility at 18080 Collins Avenue, and later modified on December 17, 2015 via Resolution No. 2015-2504 by the City Commission to include a 250-seat community theater at the new facility located at 18080 Collins Avenue; and WHEREAS, at the City Commission meeting of October 15, 2015, Perkins + Will (the "Architect") presented the conceptual design for the Government Center Expansion and received feedback from the Commission at the public meeting; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wants to approve the schematic design and design development for the Government Center Expansion to proceed with the design of the project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Schematic Design and Design Development. The City Commission hereby approves the schematic design and design development for the Government Center Expansion at 18080 Collins Avenue, attached hereto as Exhibit "A". Section 2. Authorization of City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager and City Attorney are hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate this Resolution. Section 3. Effective Date.
