LPA RESOLUTION NO. 2016 - 101 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY OF THE CITY <br /> OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOMMENDING TO THE <br /> CITY COMMISSION OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, THE ORDINANCE <br /> AMENDING THE CITY'S ADOPTED COMPREHENSIVE PLAN TO <br /> PROVIDE FOR THE STATE MANDATED REQUIREMENTS FOR A <br /> TEN-YEAR WATER SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN BY <br /> AMENDING THE INFRASTRUCTURE ELEMENT, THE <br /> CONSERVATION ELEMENT, THE INTERGOVERNMENTAL <br /> COORDINATION ELEMENT, AND BY UPDATING THE WATER <br /> SUPPLY FACILITIES WORK PLAN SUB-ELEMENT, AND THE <br /> REQUIRED TRANSMITTAL TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF <br /> ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br /> DATE. <br /> WHEREAS. the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Florida was incorporated on June 17. 1997; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach initially adopted its first Water Supply Facility <br /> Plan pursuant to Ordinance No. 2009-330 adopted on July 16, 2009; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 163.3177(6)(c) Florida Statutes, required coordination of the local <br /> Comprehensive Plan with the South Florida Water Management District's regional water supply <br /> plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, Section 163.3177(6)(c) Florida Statutes, requires local governments to update <br /> its 10-Year Water Supply Work Plan and to amend their Comprehensive Plans within eighteen <br /> (18) months after the Water Management District approves a Regional Water Supply Plan or its <br /> update; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has carefully prepared amendments to its <br /> Comprehensive Plan pursuant to Section 163.3177(6)(c), Florida Statutes, in order to adopt <br /> amendments or revisions in conformance with the adopted Work Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commission serves as the Local Planning Agency ("LPA"), and <br /> whereas the LPA is required to review amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan; and <br /> WHEREAS, on January 21, 2016, the City Commission reviewed the proposed <br /> amendment, held an advertised public hearing, provided for participation by the public in the <br /> process; and <br /> WHEREAS. the LPA has determined that it is in the best interest of the City and its _ <br /> residents to recommend approval of the Report-Based Amendments to the City of Sunny Isles Beach <br /> Comprehensive Plan, and recommendations and comments to be transmitted to the Department of <br /> Economic Opportunity and review agencies, for their review. <br /> LPA 82016-Transmitral of Comp Plan 10-Yr Water Supply Facilities Work Plan I <br />
