Atkins has a wealth of
local resources to support the various Sunny Isles Beach initiatives that include roadway, sanitary and storm sewer, and
I sanitary storm water pump station design compliance.Additionally, Atkins has expertise that includes the full gamut of
services that the City may require including landscape architecture, architecture, and planning and urban design. We
have the capacity to provide as many or as few services as you desire as well as environmental engineering. You may
find it comforting to know that we can provide all the services the City may need to support its various programs and
projects. Atkins has a proven track record of serving public clients and extensive experience in force main analysis and
stormwater design.
IThe right team
Atkins North America, Inc. (Atkins)has assembled a team that will meet and exceed the City's technical, financial, and
schedule goals for all potential assignments. Over the course of the last 52 years, Atkins has provided civil engineering
I services to municipal clients throughout Florida. We have successfully delivered planning, design, and construction-
related services to our municipal clients by identifying infrastructure improvement needs, collecting and evaluating data,
developing work programs that are in line with client budgets, and providing oversight during implementation of these
I programs to ensure our clients receive the maximum benefit for their investments.
Project management
1 As the proposed team project manager, I will be the primary point of contact with the City and will be responsible for
daily management of the team as well as communication with the City's project manager. My background consists
of working with municipalities and leading complex projects from an owner's perspective. The municipal experience
obtained under similar contracts includes the cities of Tallahassee, Miami, Miami Beach, North Miami Beach, and
I Miami Springs; and towns of Medley and Bay Harbor Islands, which has given me a solid background in municipal
project management and communications. For a period of two years, I also served as an extension-of-staff with the
Florida Department of Environmental Protection(FDEP) Bureau of Beaches and Coastal Systems, where I reviewed and
approved activities along five of Florida's coastal counties. In this role, I became intimately familiar with the Coastal
I Construction Control Line(CCCL) rules and procedures, as well as knowledgeable in addressing sea turtle lighting issues
and development along Florida's sandy beaches. Other staff extension assignments included the City of Tallahassee's
Water and Sewer Division, overseeing the replacement of a 36-inch force main utilizing pipe-bursting methodology,
I which is the largest pipe burst recorded in the United States. I understand the intricacies of municipal projects and how
to manage the balancing act of achieving project goals while maintaining community and stakeholder involvement and
communications.
I Most recently, we assisted the City of Miami in developing a stormwater work program that required coordination with
local regulatory agencies which provided the ability to establish professional relationships and specific knowledge that
will benefit any projects issued under the subject contract.
1/
I
