The public private partnership led <br />by the development fi rm Servitas, provides a state of the art living <br />facility for FIU’s students with stunning views of Biscayne Bay. CMA’s <br />responsibilities include providing all site services for the project including <br />survey, geotechnical, civil and landscape services. The site program <br />includes a resort style swimming pool with hammocks, barbecue areas, <br />outdoor seating, and cabana, bicycle parking facilities, pedestrian <br />pathways, site seating and a 300 space parking facility. Sandwiched <br />between the Kovens Conference Center and the Marine Sciences <br />building, the fi ve acre site off ers many challenges including naturally low <br />topography, sensitive mangrove areas and poor draining soils. CMA is <br />applying its experience with Low Impact Development (LID) techniques <br />to provide site design in the highly constrained site. The project is being <br />designed to a LEED silver standard.
