Project acheduiing <br />Curtis + Rogers believes that a systematic communication process is essential to maintaining the project schedule. At <br />eacR initiai project kick-orr meeting, the project scope, schedule and personnel role are established. Following this <br />meeting, a series of coordination meetings or conference calls- with the client- are established to review the work in <br />progress, and to ensure that the project is proceeding according to the scope, desires of the client group and in <br />accordance to the established schedule. Meeting notes are taken and distributed to all project Nafficipants, via cir"ail. <br />In addition, the Curtis + Rogers, project manager Will organic the work into a sericz of c, itical tasxs. i Hese tasks are <br />evaluated as to the level of effort required, the available data and the anticipated scheduling impacts. This work effort is <br />distributed to all team members, and tracked periodically with completion dates, ,ticipated delays or additional tasks <br />needed. The project manager will continually update the task list and track the scope and schedule modifications. <br />The rrt jeM Manager is in constant contact with all team members to ensure that they have all the data needed to <br />complete their scope and that the time frame for deliverables is adhered to. <br />Built Projects <br />Curtis + Rogers has, and is, continuing to influence the Miami landscape and skyline through such projects as: <br />American <br />Airlines Arena, Metro Zoo, Parrot Jungle and Gardens at Watson Island, US Federal Courthouse, Miami Children's <br />Museum, Miami International Airport, cuundess parks an8 scnools tMroughoat tRe State. Kecently Curtis T Rogers has <br />completed the reconstruction of Gibson Park, in Miami, the SR836 extension, Florida Avenue reconstruction in Coconut <br />Grove and the Mew children's Plascom in Davie Florida. <br />LEED Experience <br />Curtis + Rogers is currently working on several LEED prcjec—u. Three of the projeM are reducing the use of potable <br />water <br />by 50% and one is reducing the use of potable water by 100%. In order to accomplish this we have proposed the use of <br />rain water tanks. cisterns, quick coupler valves connected to the water tanks for hand watering and planting that does <br />not <br />require permanent irrigation after establishment. Our irrigation systems in the 50% reduction projects are being <br />designed so that the turf areas and shrub and groundcover areas have separate zones. They also incluse separate <br />bungler Lones for some of the trees and palms that require more water than the shrubs, groundcovers or turf. <br />Separating the zones reduces the use of water by allowing the shrub and grundcover ones to run for less time since <br />they do not require as much water as the turf areas or some of the trees and palms. In addition, all of our irrigation <br />systems include automatic controllers which allow all zones to be programme's with different run t mes depending on <br />the water requirements for the particular group of plantings. Rain sensors are also incorporated into the system in <br />order to shut the irrigation system off when it rains. <br />Our designs take full advantage of native plant marrial. Dative plant material regai%= ie» water an'a is more adaptable <br />to existing site conditions which also limits the use of imported soils. Exotic plant material when used, is kept to a <br />minimum, and is used in key areas and when the project demands it culturally. <br />in order to reduce the heat island effect our designs inciade the use of shade tees throughout the project and <br />specifically in the parking lots and on the west side of the buildings. Shade trees when combined with shrubs and <br />groundcovers also <br />increases the evapotranspiration rate which reduces the amount of water required for that group of planting. <br />LEED Accredited Professionals <br />Curtis + Rogers has two [EEO Accredited Professionals <br />Affiliations <br />Curtis + Rogers is a member of The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC.) <br />
