Edelcup ./J1~_ <br />April 15, 2010 / I 'Vp <br /> <br />Charitable Contribution to Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School for <br />the Marine Science Program <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution contributing <br />$3,000.00 to the Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School for the Marine Science <br />Program. <br /> <br />REASONS: <br /> <br />The Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High Biscayne Bay Campus opened its doors to 730 9th <br />and 10th grade students on August 24, 2009 from Sunny Isles Beach, North Miami, North Miami <br />Beach, and Golden Beach. There are 300 students attending the High School from Sunny Isles <br />Beach, and the City considers it as a part of their obligation to support this magnificent school <br />ensuring the highest quality of education and academic excellence. <br /> <br />The Alonzo and Tracy Mourning Senior High School is requesting support from each of the <br />municipalities in which its students live, and the City of Sunny Isles Beach wishes to participate <br />by making a charitable contribution in the amount of Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) to be <br />used for the School's Marine Science Program. <br /> <br />Funding for this contribution is available in account number 10-511.5490. <br /> <br />Approval: <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />A~enda Item No.: l\-Db--~t\): '0 N <br /> <br /> <br />Commission Meeting Date: ~ <br /> <br />City Manager <br /> <br />Cover Memo Contribution To Alonzo And Tracy Mourning High School <br />
