ORDINANCE NO. 2009-~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 256-14 OF THE VEHICLES AND TRAFFIC CODE RELATING TO RENTAL OF PARKING LOT SPACES FOR SPECIAL EVENTS; ESTABLISHING HOURL Y PARKING FEES AT VARIOUS PARKING METER LOCATIONS; ESTABLISHING APPLICATION RENEWAL; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING FOR INCLUSION IN THE CODE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Commission has a desire to provide a location for residents to park their commercial/recreational vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to amend the vehicle and traffic code relating to parking fees required per hour at the various parking meter locations. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The foregoing "WHEREAS" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part by this Ordinance upon adoption hereof. Section 2. follows: Amendment. Section 256-14 of the Vehicles and Traffic is amended to read as ~ 256-14. Parking Meter Rates. A. The parking meter rates at the Ellen Wynne Beach Access and the William Lehman Overpass (Center Island) parking lots shall be $2 for each hour, with a minimum purchase of one hour and a maximum of 12 hours. The rental of the parking lot spaces for special events outside of the normal daily operation shall be: $50.00 per space for up to 12 hours and a deposit of$500.00 is required. B. The parking meter rates at the Pier Park, under the William Lehman Bridge, and at the Bella Vista Park, and at any other Municipal Parking Lot parking lots shall be as follows: (1) Flat rate fee of$6 during \vcekday hours Rate of $2.00 per hour with a maximum purchase of 12 hours.
