<br />LP A RESOLUTION NO. 2007 - 3a- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE LOCAL PLANNING AGENCY OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH EAR-BASED TEXTURAL AMENDMENTS TO <br />THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH'S COMPREHENSIVE MASTER <br />PLAN AND IN PARTICULAR, AMENDMENTS TO THE FUTURE LAND <br />USE ELEMENT, TRANSPORTATION ELEMENT, <br />INTERGOVERNMENT AL COORDINATION ELEMENT, AFFORDABLE <br />HOUSING ELEMENT, RECREATION AND OPEN SPACE ELEMENT, <br />CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS ELEMENT, COASTAL MANAGEMENT <br />ELEMENT, INFRASTRUCTURE ELEMENT, COMMUNITY DESIGN <br />ELEMENT, AND A MISSION STATEMENT ENCOMPASSING THE <br />VISION FOR THE CITY, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A", AND <br />THE REQUIRED TRANSMITTAL TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF <br />COMMUNITY AFFAIRS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 163.3191 OF THE <br />FLORIDA STATUTES; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida was incorporated on June 17, 1997; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the Local Government Comprehensive Planning <br />and Land Development Regulation Act, on October 5, 2000, the City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />adopted its Comprehensive PIan; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Florida Statute 163.3191, the City prepared a draft <br />Comprehensive Plan Evaluation and Appraisal Report (EAR); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on June 28, 2005, the City Commission, acting in its capacity as the City's <br />Local Planning Agency, reviewed the EAR, held an advertised public hearing, provided for <br />participation by the public in the process; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on September 22, 2005, the City Commission, acting in its capacity as the <br />City's Local Planning Agency determined that it was in the best interest of the City and its residents <br />to recommend approval of the Resolution adopting the EAR for transmittal to the State Department <br />of Community Affairs; and. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission serves as the Local Planning Agency ("LP A"), and <br />whereas the LP A is required to review the draft EAR-Based Amendments; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City responded to objections and comments issued by the Department of <br />Community Affairs; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the LP A has determined that it is in the best interest of the City and its <br />residents to recommend approval of the EAR-Based Textural Amendments to the Comprehensive <br />Master Plan for transmittal to the State Department of Community Affairs. <br /> <br />LPA R2007- Transmittal ofComp Plan Draft EAR Amendments to DCA 1 <br />
