RESOLUTION NO. 98-_U- Q <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO SIGN AND APPROVE THE ATTACHED <br />FLORIDA STATEWIDE MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT AND <br />THE ATTACHED MODIFICATION #1 TO AGREEMENT; <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />WHEREAS, the State Emergency Management Act, Chapter 252, Florida Statutes, <br />authorizes the state and its political subdivisions to develop and enter into mutual aid agreements <br />for reciprocal emergency aid and assistance of emergencies too extensive to be dealt with unassisted; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, on September 17th, 1998, the commissioner of the City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />approved an agreement with the State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management concerning <br />the Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement; and <br />WHEREAS, The Florida Department of Community Affairs requires municipalities to <br />participate in the Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement to be eligible for funds under Administrative <br />Rule 9G-19, Base Funding for County Emergency Management Agencies and Municipal <br />Competitive Grant and Loan Programs; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1: The City Commission hereby approves and authorizes the City Manager to execute the <br />attached Statewide Mutual Aid Agreement and Modification to the Agreement. <br />Section 2: This Resolution will become effective immediately upon adoption. <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of Septeml <br />ATTEST <br />-I,-- �It <br />Rdchard Brown-Morilla, City Clerk <br />
