Dannheisser
Cin-Attomev
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Commission authorize, by resolution, a grant
application to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, in support of
the development of the Oceanfront Park.
REASONS
The Department of Environmental Protection through the Division of Recreation
& Parks and the Bureau of Design & Recreational Services offers matching grants
of up to a total project value of 5200,000; 5100,000 of State funding and 5100,000
in local match. The City's match can be a portion of the cost of acquisition of the
Beachfront parcels already owned by the City.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All municipalities in the State are eligible to apply, and are ranked according to
project scoring. The eligible projects are then presented to the next session of the
State Legislature for funding. In the past three years all eligible projects were
funded by the Legislature, but the continuance of full funding is at the discretion
of next year's Legislative action.
Res e itte
ames DiPietro
City Manager
JD:jnS
