<br />RESOLUTION NO. 98- \ 03 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AND APPROVE THE <br />ATTACHED DISASTER RELIEF FUNDING AGREEMENTS <br />BY AND BETWEEN THE STATE OF FLORIDA, <br />DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AFFAIRS AND THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the President ofthe United States has declared an emergency (FEMA-3131- <br />EM-FL) for several communities in Florida as a result of Hurricane Georges; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as a result of the <br />Presidential Declaration has made available federal funds for disaster relief activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, upon the execution of this Agreement the City of Sunny Isles Beach may be <br />eligible to share in such federal assistance; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY <br />OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. <br /> <br />The City Commission hereby approves the attached agreement and authorizes the <br />City Manager to execute same including such modifications, as may be required. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />This Resolution will become effective immediately upon adoption. <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December, <br /> <br /> <br />8. <br /> <br />David Samson, Mayor <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />~~~~~~ <br /> <br />Richard Brown-Monlla, City Clerk <br /> <br />Fema Res. <br /> <br />-1- <br />
