City of Sunny Isles Beach (13 <br />Office of the City Clerk <br />MEMORANDUM <br />DATE: June 17, 1999 <br />TO: Mayor Samson and City Commissioners <br />FROM: Richard Brown-Morilla, City Clerle_� <br />SUBJECT: RESOLUTION DESIGNATING TWO REGISTERED VOTERS TO SERVE <br />ON THE CANVASSING BOARD FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION, AND <br />CALLING A GENERAL ELECTION, AND RUN-OFF ELECTION, IF <br />NECESSARY <br />RECOA4MENDATION: <br />It is requested that the City Commission designate "two registered voters" who shall serve <br />with the City Clerk, City Manager, and the City Attorney as the Canvassing Board for the <br />upcoming General elections. It is also recommended that the City Commission adopt the <br />attached Resolution which provides for conducting a General Election on September 14, 1999, <br />and if necessary, a run-off election of October 12, 1999. <br />REASONS: <br />This resolution provides the required details regarding the conduct of the upcoming general election, <br />and if necessary, a run-off election. Pursuant to City Ordinance No. 99-65, the City Commission <br />must designate the two registered voters to serve on the Canvassing Board of these specific elections. <br />The two registered voters who would serve on the Canvassing Board should be willing to remain <br />neutral during the upcoming campaign process. <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />Richard Brown-Morilla <br />City Clerk <br />Attachment: proposed resolution <br />c\Clerk's Election DocslComm Memo General Election Reso 8 Canvass Designation <br />
