<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000- 2-( f( <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING CURRENT AND <br />AFTER-THE-FACT AUTHORIZATION TO THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT TO APPROPRIATE AND SPEND FUNDS FROM THE <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Law Enforcement Trust Fund was established pursuant to FS 934.704; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, monies in the Law Enforcement Trust Fund may only be expended for law <br />enforcernentpurposes; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the previous City Manager had agreed to purchase summer uniforms for the <br />Police Department as part of a conflict resolution meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the previous City Manager had agreed to allow for summer enforcement <br />programs involving special enforcement units on the beach, equipment purchases, and related <br />expenses for those programs as part of a conflict resolution meeting. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. The Police Department is authorized to appropriate and spend $52,000 from the Law <br />Enforcement Trust Fund for the following: <br /> <br />a. Expenditures in the amount of $12,000 for costs associated with <br />summer uniforms. <br /> <br />b. Expenditures occurring in reference to the police wave <br />runners in the amount of$17,000 are ratified and approved after the fact, as of <br />the date ofthe expenditure. <br /> <br />c. Expenditures in the amount of $23,000 for costs associated with uniform <br />services needs for summer enforcement programs. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption <br /> <br />PASSED AND ADOPTED this 13th day of April, 2000. <br /> <br /> <br />R2000- Law Enforcement Trust Fund Expenditures <br />417/00 9:44 AM <br /> <br />page 1 of 2 <br />
