<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000 - ~ 50 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, REQUESTING A LEASE <br />FROM THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT TRANSPORTATION <br />FOR PARCELS SITUATED IN AND AROUND THE <br />PROPOSED CITY HALL SITE DESCRIBED IN <br />COMPOSITE EXHIBIT "A"; REPRESENTING THE <br />UTILIZATION OF THE PROPOSED PROPERTY WILL BE <br />FOR PUBLIC PURPOSES NOT INCONSISTENT WITH <br />TRANSPORTATION PURPOSES; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is planning to build its City Hall on land situated to the east <br />and to the west of the parcels owned by the Florida Department of Transportation which <br />are the subject of this resolution ("FDOT Property"); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to use the FDOT Property for, among other things, <br />surface parking and green space surrounding the proposed City Hall; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City intends to use the parcels in a manner consistent with its <br />transportation purposes and the City agrees that the parcels will not be used for the <br />purpose of producing income or for profit; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Incorporation of Recitals. <br />by reference. <br /> <br />The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein <br /> <br />2. Lease Request. The City of Sunny Isles Beach respectfully requests the <br />Florida Department of Transportation to lease the property described in attached <br />Composite Exhibit "A" ("FDOT Property") for no monetary consideration. <br /> <br />2. Public Purpose. The City represents that the FDOT Property shall be used <br />for public purposes, including but not limited to, surface parking, green space, and pump <br />house storage, which purposes are not inconsistent with transportation purposes. <br /> <br />3. Effective Date. <br />adoption. <br /> <br />This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon <br /> <br />FDOT Parcel Lease.res <br />0.7/11/0.0. 2:48 PM <br />
