<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000- ';t:5 I <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY" <br />MANAGER, OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO SIGN ALL REQUIRED <br />CONTRACTS, AGREEMENTS, AND PURCHASE ORDERS THA T MAY <br />AFFECT THE HEALTH, SAFETY, OR WELFARE OF THE CITY, AND <br />TO TEMPORARILY RENEW EXISTING CONTRACTS WHICH MAY <br />EXPIRE, FOR THIRTY (30) DAYS, FROM THE LAST COMMISSION <br />MEETING IN JULY 2000, UNTIL THE FIRST COMMISSION <br />MEETING IN SEPTEMBER 2000, SUBJECT TO RATIFICATION BY <br />THE CITY COMMISSION AT ITS FIRST MEETING IN SEPTEMBER <br />2000; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission are not scheduled to meet between the last <br />meeting in July 2000 and the first meeting in September 2000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor and City Commission wish to assign certain powers to the City <br />Manager or his Designee, to sign all required contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that <br />may affect the health, safety or welfare of the City, subject to later ratification by the City <br />Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there may be existing contracts which may expire and require renewal <br />during the time between the last Commission meeting in July 2000 and the first meeting in <br />September 2000 which should receive Commission approval for renewal or for extension period <br />of time; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Manager will report back to the City Commission, at the first <br />meeting in September 2000, seeking after-the-fact ratification of any actions relating to the <br />aforestated authorizations. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Manager, or his Designee, is hereby authorized to sign all required <br />contracts, agreements, and purchase orders that may affect the health, safety, or <br />welfare of the City, and to temporarily renew any existing contracts for thirty (30) <br />days that may be required to be renewed, from the last Commission meeting in July <br />2000 until the first commission meeting in September 2000, subject to ratification <br />by the City Commission at its first meeting in September 2000. <br /> <br />Section 2.
