<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000- '^' 53 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE <br />UTILIZATION OF FUNDS FROM THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />DEPARTMENT BUDGET TO PURCHASE OF A NEW VEHICLE <br />FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER AND/OR HIS DESIGNEE TO NEGOTIATE A <br />CONTRACT, NOT TO EXCEED SEVENTEEN THOUSAND <br />DOLLARS ($17,000.00), FOR PURCHASE OF SAID VEHICLE; <br />FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO TAKE <br />ANY AND ALL ACTION AS MAY BE NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE PURCHASE OF SAID VEHICLE; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in February 2000, the Police Department furnished a van to the Public Works <br />Department with the mutual agreement that the Public Works Department would replace said van by <br />providing the funds necessary for the Police Department to purchase a replacement vehicle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Police Department currently desires to purchase the promised vehicle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to authorize the City Manager and/or his designee <br />to negotiate a contract for purchase of said vehicle; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission further authorizes the City Manager to execute the <br />contract and to do all things necessary to effectuate purchase of said vehicle; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authority to Use Funds. The Police Department is hereby authorized to utilize funds <br />from the Public Works Department budget to purchase a replacement vehicle. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager and/or his designee are hereby <br />authorized to negotiate a contract, in an amount not to exceed Seventeen Thousand Dollars <br />($17,000.00), for the purchase of a new vehicle for the Police Department. The City Manager is <br />further authorized to execute the contract, provided the contract is approved as to form and legal <br />sufficiency by the City Attorney, and to do all other things necessary to effectuate purchase of said <br />vehicle. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
