<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2000-..ll#- <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE CREATION OF <br />"GOVERNMENT DAY IN SUNNY ISLES BEACH" FOR STUDENTS; <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, there has been a declining interest in elections and a growing cynicism about <br />government in the United States; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Sunny Isles Beach would like to contribute <br />to the encouragement and development of future community leaders, and to motivate our younger <br />citizens to become active in civic affairs; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT: <br /> <br />Section 1. The City Commission supports the creation of a "Government Day In Sunny Isles <br />Beach" for students and authorizes the City Manager to initiate such a pilot project. <br /> <br />Section 2.
