RESOLUTION NO. 2001-3J 8 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT BY AND BETWEEN SIEMON & LARSEN, P.A. AND THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH FOR PROFESSIONAL CONSULTING SERVICES WITH RESPECT TO THE REDEVELOPMENT OF SUNNY ISLES BOULEVARD BASED ON THE PROPOSAL ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; FURTHER DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS PROPOSAL; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach has performed a number of studies in connection with the overall redevelopment within the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and WHEREAS, there are very specific issues that must be addressed on Sunny Isles Boulevard based on the data collected thus far for the entire City; and WHEREAS, the City Manager and City Attorney have interviewed this firm and are convinced this consultant has the necessary expertise and experience to accomplish redevelopment of the entryway to the City and therefore would urge the Commission to employ this professional association for the provision of consultation services, in accordance with the proposal attached hereto as Exhibit "A". NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Authorization of and Direction to the City Manager and City Attorney. The City Manager is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute a contract by and between Siemon & Larsen, P.A. and the City of Sunny Isles Beach for professional consulting services with respect to the redevelopment of Sunny Isles Boulevard, in accordance with and based on the proposal attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and directs the City Attorney and City Manager to do all things necessary to effectuate this proposal.
