RESOLUTION NO. 2001- 3~~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, ESTABLISHING THE CITY MANAGER'S FINANCIAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE AND APPROVING APPOINTMENT OF THREE MEMBERS TO SAID COMMITTEE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City Manager has had to make significant financial recommendations over the past year to the City Commission with regard to major issues such as the cancellation of the City Hall project on Sunny Isles Boulevard; and WHEREAS, the City Manager has had to spend considerable time and effort on long- range financial projecting and planning for the City with the assistance of the City's independent auditors and finance staff; and WHEREAS, the City Manager desires to tap into the expertise of an informal group of citizens to assist the Manager in making future financial decisions facing the City, the least of which may include the down turn in the State economy and its effects on City revenues (other than the ad valorem tax), which are all based on the success of the business sector; and WHEREAS, the City Manager wishes the approval of the City Commission for the creation of this committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Establishment of Committee. A three member City Manager's Financial Advisory Committee be hereby established to serve at the pleasure of the City Manager and Section 2. Appointments of Members. The City Commission hereby appoints the following individuals to the committee: Commissioner Norman S. Edelcup of244 Atlantic Avenue, Carlos Menendez of 3926 194th Lane, and George "Bud" Scholl of 334 Atlantic Avenue, to meet as needed when called upon by the City Manager. Section 3. Effective Date.
