Russo, City Manager(?.f ^ <br /> <br />October 16, 2001 <br /> <br />DISPOSAL OF SURPLUS PROPERTY <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached resolution authorizing a process <br />for which the City Manager may dispose of surplus property. <br /> <br />REASONS <br /> <br />As the City is getting older, some of our vehicles and equipment beginning to get old. It <br />becomes necessary to have a procedure to properly and fairly dispose of such surplus equipment <br />and vehicles. Therefore, we seek authority for the City Manager to be able to dispose of surplus <br />property by informal sealed bids or municipal auction, or for items valued under $1,000 by <br />appropriate means. <br /> <br />ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> <br />In accordance with Attorney General Opinion 98-04, the manner of disposing surplus property is <br />within the discretion of the City to act in its best interests. <br /> <br />CJR/pw <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />Surplus Property Disposal Agenda Memo <br /> <br />Date <br />
