Ciey of Sunny Z.les <br />Baach (the -SubgranteeU). This Agreement is based on the <br />existence of the following conditiona: <br />The South Florida Floods had a devastating impact upon the <br />State of Florida. The severity of the damage and losses resulted <br />in a declaration of emergency by the Governor in Executive Order <br /> <br />00-297. In consequence of the South Florida Floods, the <br />President of the United States declared the South Florida Floods <br /> <br />a major d1saater in the following counties: Miami-Dade, Broward. <br /> <br />Monroe, and Collier. The Public AssiDtance Program was made <br />available to eligible applicants in thc counties of Miami-Dade <br />and Broward. <br /> <br />The Agreement between the State of Florida and the Federal <br />Emergency Management Asency governing the use of ~uch fundR re- <br />quires the State to share the costs eligible tor federal <br />financial assistance, and the Staee has undertaken to share those <br /> <br />costs with its Subgrantces. <br /> <br />A Budget Amendment has been prepared and is boing considered <br /> <br />to provide for the necessary funds and authorities for this <br /> <br />event. Under the Emergency Management Act, as amended, the <br /> <br />Department has authority to administer tederal financial <br /> <br />1 <br />
