<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002- ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, INCORPORATING RECITALS; <br />AWARDING BID NO. 01-12-01 TO THE REDLAND COMPANY, INC. <br />(" RED LAND "), FOR THE GOLDEN SHORES DRAINAGE <br />IMPROVEMENT AND PAVING PROJECT; APPROVING AN <br />AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH AND REDLAND, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE <br />MILLION FOUR HUNDRED FORTY-NINE THOUSAND EIGHT <br />HUNDRED NINETY-SIX DOLLARS AND FIFTY-SIX CENTS <br />($3,449,896.56), ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE SAID <br />AGREEMENT AND DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br />THE TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is desirous of having the drainage problem <br />and poor roadway conditions corrected in the Golden Shores area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City publicly advertised Bid No. 01-12-01 - Golden Shores Drainage <br />and Paving Project, and sent bid packages to thirteen (13) potential bidders; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Pre-bid Conference was held on Thursday, January 3,2002, at which time <br />five (5) potential bidders attended; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Redland was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder meeting the City's <br />specifications, submitting a sealed bid with a schedule of unit prices for certain materials; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into an Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", <br />with Redland, in a total amount up to Three Million Four Hundred Forty-Nine Thousand Eight <br />Hundred Ninety-Six Dollars and Fifty-Six Cents ($3,449,896.56), for the Golden Shores <br />Drainage Improvement and Paving Project. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals set forth in this resolution are incorporated <br />herein by reference as if fully set forth herein. <br /> <br />Section 2. Award of Bid. The City Commission hereby awards Bid No. 01-12-01 to <br />Redland.
