RESOLUTION NO. 2002- ~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING IN CONCEPT THE ENTRY SIGNAGE PLAN PREPARED BY O'LEARY DESIGN ASSOCIA TES, P.A., FOR PLACEMENT AT FOUR PRIMARY ENTRANCES TO THE CITY; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE AUTHORITY TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City is in need of signage that will convey to residents and visitors that they are entering the City of Sunny Isles Beach; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to place these signs at the four primary entrances to the City: Collins Avenue north, Collins Avenue south, Sunny Isles Boulevard, and the William Lehman Causeway; and WHEREAS, the City Commission has previously qualified O'Leary Design Associates "O'Leary") to provide landscaping and related services to the City by Resolution No. 2001-338; and WHEREAS, the City contracted O'Leary on February 21,2002, to provide professional landscape and graphic design services associated with preparation of signage plan; and WHEREAS, O'Leary has prepared the signage plans and now submits the conceptual plan for City Commission approval. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Approval of Conceptual Entry Signage Plan. The entry signage plan, as prepared by O'Leary Design Associates, for placement of signs at the four primary entrances to the City: Collins A venue north, Collins A venue south, Sunny Isles Boulevard, and the William Lehman Causeway, is hereby approved in concept. Section 3. Authorization of City Manager. The City Manager is hereby authorized to do all things necessary to effectuate the intent of this resolution. Section 4. Effective Date.
