<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002- ~ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, INCORPORATING RECITALS; <br />A WARDING BID NO. 02-03-01 TO VILA & SON LANDSCAPING CORP., <br />FOR LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENTS FOR STATE ROAD A-I-A <br />(COLLINS A VENUE), IN AN AMOUNT OF EIGHT HUNDRED FORTY- <br />ONE THOUSAND, NINE HUNDRED SIXTY-SIX DOLLARS ($841,966.00), <br />PLUS A CONTINGENCY OF FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($50,000.00) <br />ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR <br />TO EXECUTE SAID AGREEMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE <br />TERMS OF THE AGREEMENT; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is in need of landscaping improvements for <br />S.R. AlA (Collins Avenue); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City publicly advertised Request for Proposals No. 02-03-01 for <br />landscape improvements for State Road A-I-A (Collins Avenue), and sent bid packages to twelve <br />(12) potential bidders; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a Mandatory Pre-bid Conference and tour of the City was held on March <br />26, 2002, at which time ten (10) potential bidders attended; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Vila & Son Landscaping Corp., was the most responsive, responsible bidder <br />with a sealed bid of Eight Hundred Forty-One Thousand, Nine Hundred Sixty-Six Dollars <br />($841,966.00); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, our Landscape Consultant, O'Leary Design Associates P.A., has <br />recommended that we add a Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) contingency to the contract; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to enter into an Agreement, attached hereto as Exhibit "A", <br />with Vila & Son Landscaping Corp., in a total amount of $841,966.00, plus a contingency of <br />$50,000.00, for landscape improvements for State Road A-I-A (Collins Avenue). <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Incorporation of Recitals. The recitals set forth in this resolution are incorporated <br />herein by reference as if fully set forth herein. <br /> <br />Section 2. Award of Bid. The City Commission hereby awards Bid No. 02-03-01 for <br />Landscape Improvements S.R.
