<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2002- .m <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO APPLY FOR, RECEIVE AND EXPEND GRANT <br />FUNDS BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />BEACH AND THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF <br />HUMAN SERVICES FEDERAL DRUG CONTROL AND SYSTEM <br />IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM IN THE AMOUNT OF 57,521.00, <br />REPRESENTING A 75% (55,641.00) GRANT AWARD AND 25% <br />(51,880.00) IN CITY MATCHING FUNDS; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO <br />EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given <br />preliminary approval for the City Manager to apply for, receive and expend $7,521.00 in <br />grant monies available through the Federal Drug Control and System Improvement <br />Program from the Miami-Dade Department of Human Services, to purchase a second <br />electric car to enhance the Community Policing and Crime Prevention Activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal funds are again available to the City of Sunny Isles Beach <br />from the Miami-Dade Department of Human Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has received <br />preliminary approval for said funds, totaling $7,521.00 representing a 75% ($5,641.00) <br />grant award and 25% ($1,880.00) in City matching funds. to purchase a second electric <br />car to enhance the Community Policing and Crime Prevention Activities. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of the City Manager. The City Commission hereby <br />authorizes the City Manager to apply for, receive and expend grant funds, attached hereto <br />as Exhibit "A", by and between the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the Miami-Dade <br />Department of Human Services Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program <br />in the amount of $7,521.00, representing a 75% ($5,641.00) grant award and 25% <br />($1,880.00) in City matching funds; and to do all things necessary to effectuate this <br />Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br />adoption. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
