<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- ~55 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY <br />ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A GUARANTEED MAXIMUM PRICE <br />OF FOURTEEN MILLION NINE HUNDRED NINETY-TWO THOUSAND <br />FIFTY DOLLARS (14,992,050.00) FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE NEW <br />CITY HALL, PARKING GARAGE AND TONY ROMA'S RESTAURANT FROM <br />OUR GENERAL CONTRACTOR AND CONSTRUCTION MANAGER, THE <br />WEITZ COMPANY; PROVIDING THE CITY MANAGER WITH THE <br />AUTHORITY TO DO ALL TmNGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE <br />TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2002-433, the City Commission approved a construction <br />agreement between the City and the Weitz Company for the construction of the new City Hall <br />and a new Tony Roma's restaurant; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on October 10, 2002, the City Commission adopted Resolution No. 2002- <br />478 authorizing the City Manager to bifurcate the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the <br />Tony Roma's Restaurant from the City Hall complex, in order to negotiate certain levels of <br />quality and finishes desired by the City Commission, while remaining on schedule for the <br />construction of the City Hall complex; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has now received a GMP proposal in the amount of <br />$14,992,050.00, 'inclusive of the new City Hall, Parking Garage and Tony Roma's Restaurant, <br />from our General Contractor and Construction Manager, The Weitz Company. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Guaranteed Maximum Price. The City Commission hereby approves <br />the guaranteed maximum price (GMP) of $14,992,050.00 for the construction of the new City <br />Hall, Parking Garage and Tony Roma's Restaurant, from The Weitz Company. <br /> <br />Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City <br />Manager to do all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th of June 2003. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
