<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003- ~ 17 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY TO <br />PARTICIPATE IN THE "SECOND TUESDAY AT BISCAYNE BAY <br />CAMPUS" PROGRAM, AND AUTHORIZING A CHARITABLE <br />CONTRIBUTION TO THE BISCA YNE BAY SOCIETY OF FLORIDA <br />INTERNA TIONAL UNIVERSITY (FlU), IN THE AMOUNT OF FIVE <br />THOUSAND DOLLARS ($5,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE <br />TERMS OF THIS RESOLUTION: PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach is committed in participating and informing <br />its residents of cultural events and activities taking place in and around our community; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Biscayne Bay Society of Florida International University (FlU) has <br />invited the City to become a co-partner in the FlU Biscayne Bay Project to keep its citizens <br />apprised of any programs that may interest them, including the "Second Tuesday at Biscayne <br />Bay Campus"; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the partnership between the City and FlU is mutually beneficial to our <br />residents and visitors, and it can be incorporated into the City's existing Cultural Events <br />Program. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Approval of Partnership. The City Commission hereby approves the partnership <br />between the City and Florida International University (FlU). <br /> <br />Section 2. Authority of City Manager. The City Commission directs the City Manager to do <br />all things necessary to effectuate the terms of this Resolution, which include but not limited to <br />donating $5,000.00 to Biscayne Bay Society of FlU for the FlU Biscayne Bay Campus Project. <br /> <br />Section 3. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
