Russo, City Manager CA <br /> DATE: July 18, 2002 <br /> RE: 192ND STREEET BEACH ACCESS CONCEPTUAL PLAN APPROVAL <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Commission approve the attached resolution approving <br /> conceptual plans for the 192nd Street Beach Access point, as prepared by O'Leary Design <br /> Associates ("O'Leary'). <br /> REASONS <br /> The l92" Street Beach access point within the City is in need of new landscaping and other <br /> miscellaneous upgrades, in order that our residents and visitors may better utilize it. These <br /> upgrades will include items such as landscaping, dead tree/shrub removal, soil/mulch, retrofit of <br /> the irrigation system and benches. Renovation of this beach access point is a continuation of our <br /> beautification and improvement efforts within the City. <br /> ADDITIONAL INFORMATION <br /> O'Leary was "qualified" to provide landscaping and related services to the City by Resolution <br /> No. 2001-338. As such, staff contacted O'Leary regarding the renovation of the 192"d Street <br /> Beach Access point. O'Leary agreed to undertake this project in accordance with their <br /> Miscellaneous Services Agreement. The total estimated cost for the actual improvement is <br /> Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00), which will be funded from Parks and Recreation impact <br /> fees.
