<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003 - ~ s <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, <br />APPROVING CHANGE ORDERS TO CONTRACTS BY AND BETWEEN <br />THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH AND WEITZ COMPANY, AND <br />SPILLIS CANDELLA & PARTNERS, INC., FOR MODIFICATION TO <br />INTERIOR DESIGN OF THE NEW GOVERNMENT CENTER FACILITY <br />LOCA TED AT 18070 COLLINS A VENUE, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF <br />$78,386.00, ATTACHED HERETO AS EXHIBIT "A"; AUTHORIZING THE <br />CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE <br />SAID CHANGE ORDERS; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 2002-419 the City Commission approved the ranking of <br />construction management firms for the construction of the City Hall and Tony Roma's Restaurant <br />located at 18050-18070 Collins Avenue, wherein the Weitz Company was selected as the number <br />one ranked firm to work in concert with Spillis Candela (the City's architects) whose contract was <br />approved by Resolution 2001-398; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City is requesting additional modification to the interior design of the new <br />Government Center Facility located at 18070 Collins Avenue, which is not included in the basic <br />services under the Agreements, and Change Orders have been submitted to the City by Weitz <br />Company (in the amount of $59,173.00) and Spillis Candela (in the amount of $14,490.00 and <br />$4,723.00 totaling $19,213.00) in the total amount of $78,386.00; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City, being satisfied with the performance and quality of workmanship of <br />both the Weitz Company and Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc., wishes for them to perform this <br />additional work. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section1. Approval of Change Orders to Contract: Change Orders to Contracts by and between <br />the City of Sunny Isles Beach and Weitz, Inc., and Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc., for additional <br />services for modification to interior design of the new Government Center Facility in the following <br />amounts: Weitz, Inc., $59,173.00 <br />Spillis Candela & Partners, Inc. 19.213.00 <br />Total Amount of: $78,368.00 <br />for the new Government Center facility located at 18070 Collins Avenue, on the terms and <br />conditions as more fully set forth as Exhibit "A", hereto, be, and the same is, hereby approved. <br /> <br />Section 2.
