<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004--k2<.l <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CONTRIBUTION OF <br />$9,000 TO THE AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM AT RUTH K. BROAD BAY <br />HARBOUR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL; PROVIDING FOR AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, since 1998, the Town of Surfside, Village of Bal Harbour and <br />Town of Bay Harbour Islands created the Surf-Bal-Bay after school program at Ruth K. <br />Broad Bay Harbour Elementary to provide said children with fun, after school activities; <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, until this year, each of the three municipalities were donating <br />$10,000 per year until last year, at which time the school administration requested <br />$15,000 for a total of $45,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as you know, with all the redevelopment occurring in Sunny Isles <br />Beach and with the demographics changing, this City is now sending more and more <br />students to Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbour Elementary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of Bay Harbour Islands has requested the City's <br />assistance in continued operation of the program; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISISON <br />OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />I. The City Commission hereby directs the Manager to contribute $9,000 to the <br />after school program at Ruth K.
