RESOLUTION NO. 2004-~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES, BEACH, FLORIDA, RENAMING THE 192ND STREET BEACH ACCESS AS THE "ELLEN WYNNE 192ND STREET BEACH ACCESS"; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, Ellen Wynne, for the past 50 years has been an active and outstanding member of the City of Sunny Isles Beach community; and WHEREAS, Ellen Wynne, has engaged in many civic, philanthropic, historic and environmental preservation activities for the betterment of, not only the Sunny Isles Beach and Golden Shores communities, but also for the entire South Florida community; and WHEREAS, through her relentless efforts, she has brought notability to the Sunny Isles Beach community, having founded among other things the nation's first free clinic for hemophiliacs in South Florida at Jackson Memorial, which has served as models for similar clinics established in St. Petersburg, Gainesville, Atlanta, Birmingham and across the continent to Japan; and WHEREAS, this Commission would like to honor Ellen Wynne for her extreme dedication in the past 62 years on making the 192nd Street Beach Access a reality; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Renaming of the 192nd Street Beach Access. In honor and appreciation of Mrs. Wynne's dedication to the enhancement of life in the City of Sunny Isles Beach and the South Florida community, the 192nd Street Beach Access is hereby renamed the "Ellen Wynne 192nd Street Beach Access".
