<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004 - m <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF <br />A BROADCASTING SYSTEM FROM DESIGN COMPUTER SYSTEMS <br />INC., PIGGY-BACKING OFF FROM THE CITY OF PORT ST. LUCIE <br />AND THE CITY OF BOCA RATON, IN AN AMOUNT OF FOURTEEN <br />THOUSAND THREE HUNDRED EIGHTY-EIGHT DOLLARS AND <br />FORTY -FOUR CENTS ($14,388.44), FOR THE CITY'S PUBLIC <br />ACCESS CHANNEL 20; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO <br />DO ALL THINGS NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THE TERMS OF <br />THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach requires an advanced broadcasting system in <br />order to meet several new goals established for the City's public access Channel 20, to deliver <br />automated video content, create a program schedule, and provide a backup system; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Design Computer Systems Inc. is the only local vendor recommended by <br />the software manufacturer, and has been awarded contracts through competitive bids by both the <br />City of Port St. Lucie and the City of Boca Raton, and is thereby exempt form competitive <br />bidding under Article 6(c) of Ordinance No. 2000-101; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City wishes to purchase a broadcasting system from Design Computer <br />Systems Inc., piggy-backing off from the City of Port St. Lucie and the City of Boca Raton, and <br />has received a proposal from Design Computer Systems Inc., in an amount of Fourteen Thousand <br />Three Hundred Eighty-Eight Dollars and Forty-Four Cents ($14,388.44), attached hereto as <br />Exhibit "A". <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section!. Authorization of City Manager, The City Manager is hereby authorized to <br />purchase the broadcasting system from Design Computer Systems Inc., piggy-backing off from <br />the City of Port St. Lucie and the City of Boca Raton, in an amount of $14,388.44, and do all <br />things necessary to effectuate the terms of this resolution. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
