<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004- "04 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY <br />MANAGER TO APPLY FOR, RECEIVE, AND EXPEND GRANT <br />FUNDS BY AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH <br />AND THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FEDERAL DRUG CONTROL & <br />SYSTEM IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (BYRNE GRANT) IN THE <br />AMOUNT OF $10,674.00, REPRESENTING A 75% ($8,005.00) GRANT <br />AWARD AND 25% ($2,669.00) IN MATCHING FUNDS; <br />AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO DO ALL THINGS <br />NECESSARY TO EFFECTUATE THIS RESOLUTION; PROVIDING <br />FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Federal funds may be given to the City of Sunny Isles Beach from the Miami- <br />Dade Department of Human Services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given preliminary <br />approval for the City Manager to apply for, receive, and expend $10,674.00 in grant monies available <br />through the Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program (Byrne Grant); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said funds will be used to purchase an additional police records computer and to <br />pay for approximately twenty-four (24) hours per week of overtime for ten (10) weeks for the <br />reorganization and indexing of archived police reports; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has received preliminary <br />approval for said funds, totaling $10,674.00 representing a 75% ($8,005.00) grant award and 25% <br />($2,669.00) in City matching funds, which can be utilized for a Criminal Justice Records <br />Improvement Project. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of City Manager. The City Commission hereby authorizes the City <br />Manager to apply for, receive, and expend grant funds, in accordance with the terms and conditions <br />as more fully set forth in Exhibit "A," attached hereto. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
