<br /> <br />Police Department <br /> <br />Fred Moos <br />Chief of Police <br /> <br />To: <br /> <br />~h ~ommission, City Manager and Mayor of Sunny Isles Beach <br />foe . <br />Fred A, Maas, Chief of Police <br /> <br />From: <br /> <br />Date: <br /> <br />November 18, 2004 <br /> <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Authorization to Apply For, Receive and Expend Grant Money from <br />the Miami-Dade County, Federal Drug Control and System <br />Improvement Program (Byrne Grant) for a "Criminal Justice <br />Records Improvement Project". <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />It is recommended that the City Commission approve a Resolution authorizing the <br />City manager to apply for, receive, and expend monies from the Miami-Dade <br />County Federal Drug Control and System Improvement Program (Byrne Grant) in <br />the amount of $10,674.00 (75% Grant Award of $8,005.00 and 25% in Matching <br />Funds = $2,669.00); further authorizing the City Manager to do all things necessary; <br />to provide matching funds as may be required; providing for an effective date. <br /> <br />Reason: <br /> <br />The City of Sunny Isles Beach Police Department has been given preliminary <br />approval of grant funds totaling $10,674.00 (75% Federal Grant Funds = $ 8,005.00 <br />and 25% Matching Funds = $ 2,669.00) in order to supplement overtime to <br />implement a "Criminal Justice Records Improvement Project". <br /> <br />Additional Information: <br /> <br />The police department will InItiate a "Criminal Justice Records Improvement <br />Project" in order to develop a more useful and efficient records storage system that <br />will enable the records unit to provide a faster and better service to our citizens <br />requesting police records. <br /> <br />Agenda Item <br /> <br />10.
