<br />RESOLUTION NO. 2004- "1,,\\ <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING A CONTRIBUTION OF <br />FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00) TO THE AFTER SCHOOL <br />PROGRAM AT RUTH K. BROAD BAY HARBOUR ELEMENTARY <br />SCHOOL; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, since 1998, the Town of Surfs ide, Village ofBal Harbour and Town of Bay <br />Harbour Islands created the Surf-Bal-Bay after school program at Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbour <br />Elementary to provide said children with fun, after school activities; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, until this year, each of the three municipalities were donating $10,000 per <br />year until last year, at which time the school administration requested $15,000 for a total of <br />$45,000; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as you know, with all the redevelopment occurring in Sunny Isles Beach <br />and with the demographics changing, this City is now sending more and more students to Ruth <br />K. Broad Bay Harbour Elementary; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of Bay Harbour Islands has requested the City's assistance in <br />continued operation of the program; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISISON OF THE <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES BEACH, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />Section 1. Authorization of City Manager. The City Commission hereby authorizes the <br />Manager to contribute Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000.00) to the after school program at <br />Ruth K. Broad Bay Harbour Elementary. <br /> <br />Section 2. <br /> <br />Effective Date.
